Playford  Community Connections offers a comprehensive suite of community programs, projects and activities.

Services aim to develop personal resilience and build on existing talents, skills and interests of families and individuals.

Eligibility;

  • Individual or family 
  • Any age
  • Must reside in the City of Playford region
  • Individual is experiencing either economic, social, physical or psychological vulnerability.

Cannabis Reduction

Program Overview

Changing Habits Attitudes and Gaining Education (CHANGE) is a six month cannabis reduction support program for young people.
The program provides:
  • Therapeutic interventions for young cannabis users
  • Educational tools and resources
  • Improve social functioning
  • Focus upon education re-engagement

Eligibility 
  • Young people aged 12 -20 years
  • Reside in Playford, Salisbury, Gawler & Barossa.
  • Voluntary 
  • No cost
  • Monday- Friday 9am - 5pm

Program Overview

The Youth Service program provides counselling and case management support for young people, addressing a variety of issues including: mental health, family conflict, education/ school, emotional regulation, relationships, abuse, alcohol and other drugs, sexual health, sexuality, conflict, grief and loss and housing. Office based or outreach support. 


Eligibility 
  • Young people aged 10 -18 years
  • Reside in Light, Adelaide Plains, Gawler and Barossa reigion.
  • Voluntary 
  • No cost
  • Monday- Friday 9am - 5pm

Program Overview

The Wellbeing Hub is an after school group program that assists primary school children to develop life skills such as: health & hygiene, cooking, socialising, communication, emotional regulation & conflict resolution. 

Eligibility
  • Young people aged 7 -13 years
  • Attend Craigmore South Primary School (CSPS) or Elizabeth Park Primary School (EPPS)
    • CSPS: Monday & Wednesday 3pm - 4:30pm
    • EPPS: Tuesday & Thursday 2:30pm - 4pm

SUPPORTING TEENAGERS AT RISK OF RE-OFFENDING

The S.T.A.R.R. Program provides comprehensive, assertive            case-management & counselling for young people who are at risk of involvement in the juvenile justice system.

Workers help the young person with issues such as: re-engagement with education or training; navigating juvenile justice systems; addressing family and relationship conflict; accessing housing or income supports; and gaining medical and mental health referral.

The following referral criteria applies:

· Aged 10 to 14 years of age.

· Residing in the Local Government Areas of Gawler, Salisbury or Playford.

· At risk of  initial or ongoing involvement in the juvenile justice system.

· Prepared to commit to regular family  involvement on a weekly basis.

Young people can self-refer or referrals can come from any community agency that works with young people.
